When smelling tequila, the expectation is not to be a master smeller; simply identifying basic aromas is good enough.
Don’t be disappointed if you only smell tequila... that is the number one correct answer!
Sip and let the liquid go across your whole tounge so you can maximize tastebud coverage. You can even swirl in your mouth before you swallow.
Then exhale and refelect on describing your taste in words. Some common descriptive words for tequila are:
Earthy, Floral, Citrus, Acidic, Spicey, Woody, Semi-sweet, sweet, fruity.
Take another sip and get more descriptive of the taste such as:
Vanilla, honey, molasses, chocolate and more.
Basically you're describing the taste using other familiar flavors.
This is a blind tasting, but we’ll tell you which flavors are in each bottle after you submitted the vote for your favorite.
Cheers! Have fun and remember Swirl, Sniff, Sip, Swallow.
